"Does The size of your balls really matter?"

April 1st.

Progression on The Voice:

I began photographing “Everyday Life” which i found difficult to contextualise, i was looking for “normality” or things that made me look twice.

Experimenting with colour and black and white film, aswell as digital, disposable and mobile cameras.

The Ninth Floor: Jessica Dimmock.

In this body of work Dimmock photographs a house of heroin addicts, brutally and honestly.

I want to feed this brutal honesty into my own work.

Florian Ruiz, European Photography -

Although Ruiz’s work has no instantly recognisable relevance to my own work it has allowed me to become aware of the instruments i am going to use throughout this project.

It has also allowed me to further see the importance of the relationship between visual technicalities, the subject within the actual image and the concept behind it.

These images were taken in Japan after peoples homes had been made public by the devastation of an earthquake.

Larry Clark.

Larry Clark hugely influences my work and throughout this project i have held onto his raw moody tones and his honest image making techniques.

Nan and Brian in bed, NYC.

Nan Goldin

The yellow tones in this image make for a hazy moment in time capture. I love the relationship between Nan and Brian and how you can feel the tension just by looking at the image.

The Voice Project- Mom in the bath, Home.
My mother openly roams free and naked around our home in kent. Whether she is bathing or on the toilet her lack of conservative attributes make her an intriguing character to photograph. I like to include the surroundings in my images so that the eye looks for detail across the whole image.

The Voice Project - Mom on the phone.
Whilst photographing for this project i had wanted to capture the small moments we endeavour everyday. I actually really like how my mother sits in the bottom right-hand corner of the image and the rest of the image is filled with grey. This composition is very fitting to the mood at the time, as she was having difficulties communicating in regards to her illness.
